We have all had an unfortunate encounter with this little insect, and if it wasn’t an encounter we saw its trace on our favorite clothes. The ones we recognize are small gray butterflies, but it is their larvae that can degrade our precious objects.
In reality they perform an important function on this planet, they are the great recyclers of organic matter . Their larvae are initiators of the process of degradation of organic matter in the development of composting, taking advantage of the nutrients in their path.
An ecological and healthy way is to use natural repellents, we only have to dry certain leaves of plants whose smell usually scares them away . This list of plants will not only keep them at bay, but will fill our house with an intoxicating aroma.
1- Lavender

Lavender is the wild card plant for most natural repellents, it is the classic all-purpose plant. Remember that our grandmothers put small bags in the drawers, the contents were some aromatic dried lavender flowers . Choose a large pot so it grows comfortably, you must keep in mind that lavender likes sandy and aerated soils. Regarding watering, it is better to let the soil dry than to overdo it; waterlogging causes the death of the plant from the lower stem to its leaves.
2- Mint

Multipurpose plant, on the one hand it is an excellent repellent and on the other we will enjoy some delicious minty lemonades. Mint does best in full sun, but can also tolerate semi-shade. This plant loves to keep its soil moist, always remember to be aware of its watering. If you have it in the garden, keep in mind that it is a plant that tends to spread a lot in its growth, choose the right place so that it does not suffocate another plant.
3- Laurel

Who doesn’t know the aroma of this wonderful culinary plant? If I told you that it is also repellent, it will become an essential part of your home. Laurel is a slow growing plant, if you do not have a garden you can opt for the pot growing option. Remember to transplant it when you see that the roots come out of the lower holes, move on to different pots until you reach one 30 cm in diameter. With good pruning you will enjoy a beautiful ornamental tree on your balcony.
4- Eucalyptus

The balsamic aroma of eucalyptus has always accompanied our homes, its silvery gray leaves beautify any garden. For this tree you will need to have a good patio since it grows quite tall. If you don’t have one, it is usually a fairly common species that you will find in the house of a friendly neighbor. It is a fast growing tree, growing one meter a year. It loves humid environments to be able to develop to its full potential.
5- Citrus

This species likes heat, with spring or autumn being the ideal time to plant it. If you choose a day with a waxing moon, you will favor your tree, because during that period its sap is found in the aerial part of the plant . The lemon tree takes between 3 to 6 years to bear fruit, the peel of these fruits is what will help us keep the moths away.
Tips to prevent moths from invading you
