Flowering and tips for good growth:

  • It blooms several times throughout the year . Winter being its best time.
  • It is essential that it receives direct natural light.
  • We should never leave it exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. This will burn the leaves of it.
  • The best climate for rosemary is in warm, temperate temperatures. But nevertheless this is very resistant to any variety of it, as long as it is not below freezing temperatures, or with hailstorms, frost, as well as very strong summer sun.
  • Adaptable to droughts or heavy rains. Always saying that excesses are harmful.
  • This plant is very comfortable inside and outside our home. We can play with changing its location, for example in the winter keeping it inside and in the summer taking it out to the balcony with the rest of our plants.
  • Irrigation is essential, so we must water it when we notice its soil is really dry, always remember that excesses for this plant are harmful.
  • It is essential to have the pot or container with a good drainage hole to avoid root rot.
  • For the hot months, irrigation will be more constant and closer.
  • When you notice that your rosemary has dry leaves and flowers or that they change color and turn yellowish , when you see that it is not growing properly, also when you notice that it has become covered in pests , that is when you will have to think about pruning your plant. Keep in mind that pruning will be on parts in poor condition, never those that you notice have good color or are healthy.
  • Pests are another element to keep in mind in the healthy growth of Rosemary. The most common are mealybugs and aphids.
  • If you want to transplant it, you must do it at the beginning of spring. Once removed from the container that contains it, it will be immediately transplanted. If you transplant, you will have to wait until the next season to see the Rosemary flowers grow, since your plant will require a new adaptation and absorb the new nutrients that its new place will provide it.

Taking into account all the tips that we have given you previously so that your Rosemary plant blooms and grows accordingly, no less important is to find the best place to complete this cycle.

For cold climates we recommend having it inside our home. Once inside the house, find a place near a window where it receives the necessary natural light.

Keep it away from radiators or hot or cold appliances, which will cause it to dry out.

When the heat starts you can put it on your balcony, always taking care that it does not take on excess heat with direct sun. So a location where it receives a few hours of natural sun and the rest shade will be better.
