You just have to keep in mind that this procedure takes two years , so what are you waiting for to do it?

Below we will give you the step by step to have, within a couple of years, a delicious pineapple grown at home.

What do we need?

Luckily they are things that you will undoubtedly have in your home. Here at Mundo Positivo we simplify things.

  • A pineapple
  • A glass
  • a big knife
  • Water
  • A lot of dedication

Procedure

We recommend that you watch the video and observe the step by step so that you can reproduce the pineapple correctly. It is a simple task but one that requires attention.

  1. We will take a pineapple and observe its parts. The crown is the one formed by the leaves and their fruit whose edible pulp is surrounded by green bracts that turn orange when they mature.
  2. We will rest our pineapple on the counter as if it were lying down and with a knife we will proceed to cut one centimeter below the crown , as if separating the fruit from the crown.
  3. Once cut, we can now cut all the rest of the fruit that was left next to the crown. We will have to remove it in its entirety, because in a few days it will rot and will nullify the cultivation process that we intend.
  4. Once the fruit has been completely removed, with our fingers we will remove the remaining leaves one by one. We will have to remove approximately two fingers of height. The leaves that follow them can remain.
  5. With the blade we will clean the base well, which is what we will have to place inside the glass in the next procedure.
  6. We will take a glass, which must be long so that it fits when the root grows well.
  7. We will place water inside until we complete a quarter of the glass’s capacity.
  8. It is time to place our pineapple crown in the center, trying to ensure that the water only wets the peeled part of the pineapple, without touching the leaves.
  9. Keep in mind that the leaves will dry out one by one and fall off.
  10. Within a few months you will notice the first appearance of roots.
  11. From the center of the crown the sheath will emerge little by little
  12. Within a year and a half to two years you will see the appearance of the desired fruit.
  13. As a last recommendation, keep in mind that at least once a week you should change the water in your glass.

A tip to learn how to choose a delicious pineapple

It should look fresh and have skin that has no visible bumps or blemishes . Its color should be yellow , since if it is green it shows that it has not matured. Its leaves, like its skin, should appear fresh and a very green color , since if you notice that they have turned brown it will indicate that it is already an old fruit.

Now yes, grow your pineapple at home or if you buy it, keep these necessary tips in mind.
