  • Use a pruning saw for larger branches (from 5 cm in diameter).

2. When to Prune:

  • Prune the fig tree after harvesting the figs, either in November for milder climates or in February for regions with harsh winters.
  • Maintenance pruning aims to eliminate branches that disrupt the general shape of the tree and improve light circulation between branches.

3. Pruning an Old Fig Tree (Rejuvenation Pruning):

  • Rejuvenation pruning involves severe cutting, bringing all branches down to the level of the stump.
