How to reproduce Mother-in-law’s Tongue?
Mother-in-law’s Tongue is characterized by having the shape of a pointed tongue or a sword, it usually has thick, dark green leaves and yellow lines. It can grow up to two meters tall if it has the space to do so and optimal conditions for its growth.
What I need?
- scissors
- substratum
- flowerpot
- eggshell
- watering can or spray bottle
Step by Step:
- The first thing you should do is remove a small stem from one of the plants. You must use scissors to cut straight a stem of approximately 20cm
- In parallel you must place the eggshells inside the substrate and mix and then use
- Then you must place the substrate inside the pot (remember that the pot has a hole underneath so that water can drain and breathe)
- You will have to fill the pot little by little to leave it ready to place the mother-in-law’s tongue cutting there
- Now you must take the mother-in-law leaf that you initially cut and cut it into three parts.
- You must place these three parts on the substrate and press them down a little so that they are planted there in the pot.
- Once they are planted you should water them a little with the watering can or spray bottle. Remember to water little by little and slowly so you avoid waterlogging the soil.
- You should leave the pot in a place with high temperature and a good amount of light so that it begins to root.
- Remember to water every 2 or 3 days and when the plant begins to grow you can transplant it
