We have discovered and today Succulents are very fashionable . These beautiful plants are very easy to maintain and there are a very varied quantity.

That is why they are chosen to decorate the interior and exterior of our home . But the most important thing is that they are very easy to root and thus form a large number of new plants. You just have to be careful not to water them too much.

When it comes to rooting, it is likely that we do not know very well how to do it, or because we do not have the basic knowledge, we do it wrong. That is why below, we will give you a series of tips and the step by step so that you can be successful in this procedure.

Necessary elements

  • Several leaves of the selected succulent
  • 3% hydrogen peroxide
  • Coconut fiber, Mushrooms and Vermiculite
  • A (disposable) container that is wide

Step by step in the multiplication of our succulents

  1. As a first measure, you must select very well the succulent that you decide to multiply.
  2. Once selected, you will look from the stem for the leaves that you notice are healthier.
  3. If necessary, cut the selected stem that contains several leaves, you will work easier.
  4. To remove the leaves from the stems you must take each one of them with your fingers and make an upward and downward movement until you separate them from the stems. Always be very careful not to break them.
  5. Once detached, you should place them somewhere dry and warm so that the cuts can dry . You will get this in two or three days.
  6. It is time to grab one or two glasses that you previously disinfected and filled with 3% hydrogen peroxide worked in the following way: 7 ml of hydrogen peroxide in 100 ml of plain water (you will find the hydrogen peroxide in any pharmacy)
  7. You will submerge the leaves inside the glasses for at least 10 minutes, thus achieving complete disinfection of the container and plants.
  8. Prepare the rather rectangular disposable container, in which you will make holes for drainage.
  9. Prepare the substrate that you will place inside your container.
  10. In equal parts you will mix coconut fiber, mushrooms and vermiculite. With this mixture you will give your leaves moisture, nutrients and aeration.
  11. When you have prepared the container with the mixed substrate, proceed to moisten it and place the leaves a few cm away from each other and at an angle. Never buried.
  12. Take the container somewhere clear and just try to keep the substrate moist in this part of the process.
  13. After two weeks you will notice that the roots and even some sprouts have already appeared.
  14. Leave them until they reach a small but well-formed size and proceed to remove them from your container. Those that have not formed the process, you should only discard.
  15. With this last point you have finished the multiplication of your succulents, so you can now transfer them to the definitive pot or container.
