Necessary elements
- lavender cuttings
- Shears
- Scissors
- Alcohol 95º
- Flowerpot
- Substrate for cuttings
- Rain or filtered water
- Natural black bean rooting agent
- 5 liter water bottle with the bottom cut
Step by Step:
- First you must find a healthy and strong lavender bush. Remember that reproducing in this way is like cloning the mother plant and the more vigorous it is, the better its children will be. The fall season is the best to carry out the multiplication process by cuttings.
- Look for branches that have not had a flower this year, this will improve their rooting. The length should be approximately 10 cm.
- Choose a woody stem with several secondary branches, the nodes of these branches are where the roots will come from . Each branch is a node, so it is always recommended that the cutting you cut have several nodes.
- Disinfect your pruning shears with 96º alcohol, the importance of this step is because it could contain diseases from previous plants that we were cutting.
- Make a clean cut, cut several branches to expand the possibilities of having your plant from cuttings.
- Now you must prepare your cutting, cut the secondary branches with scissors, paying attention to doing so above the node.
- Remove all the leaves, leaving only those at the top, this is because we want the plant’s strength to go into making roots and not into the leaves. Cut the apical branches transversely, this way you will prevent it from filling with water and fungi from forming.
- Immerse the cuttings in your natural black bean rooting agent, it will take between 10 to 15 minutes for it to be effective.
- Prepare the pot in which they will be transplanted with a mixture of peat, sand and a little coconut fiber.
- Wet the substrate with rainwater or filtered water before placing the cuttings. Wait until the substrate absorbs the water well, 10 minutes will be fine for this.
- Mark the place where you will place the cuttings with a hole; you can use a stick or your finger. Place the cuttings that you previously selected, you are now two steps away from finishing!
- Press the soil around them and water with the excess of the very diluted rooting agent. You should do this operation only on the first day, it will give it greater strength and you will obtain vigorous roots.
- Cover your cuttings with the plastic bottle, you will create a mini homemade greenhouse.
Natural rooting agents

Coffee
The proportion will be a handful of coffee per half a liter of water, to extract its properties, let it boil for 5 minutes. Then strain and let cool before soaking your cuttings.
Lentils
Let your lentils rest in water for 5 hours, blend everything and then strain. It could be that some germinate, don’t worry you can also use them sprouted. Transfer the liquid to a spray bottle, dilute it a little with water so it is not so concentrated. Spray the lower area of the cutting.
