If we see that our plants are dry, withered, that the leaves have lost all their green color and are falling, it is surely that the soil does not provide it with the necessary nutrients for it to grow healthy.
Today I am going to teach you how to make homemade fertilizer with a couple of elements that we all have in our homes, so we won’t have to go to any expense. With just a handful of beans, and the remains of coffee, we will have a homemade, natural and chemical-free mixture to revive dead plants.
Now yes, I detailed the elements we need and the step by step to obtain a mixture that will make our plant grow strongly again.

Ingredients
- A glass of beans or beans
- Two containers, one larger than the other
- Coffee grounds
- A liter of water
- Strainer
- a soup spoon
- Watering can
Procedure

We pour half a liter of water into the container. Then we add the beans and leave it for four to six hours until the beans are well hydrated. In this process, the beans will eliminate starch and calcium, which will give the water a whitish color.
We take the largest container and place the strainer in it. We filter the water from the beans. We add another half liter of water and a tablespoon of the coffee grounds. We mix everything and let it rest for a couple of hours. During this time, the coffee will release nitrogen, which enriches the soil and is responsible for giving greenness to the leaves.
We pour the fertilizer into a watering can or other container and go to the garden. Simply moistening the soil with the mixture is enough , it is not necessary to form puddles around the plants. Also, I suggest you do it at dusk, when the sun is no longer as strong. If you water during the middle hours, the heat will evaporate the liquid and it will have no effect. If you water during the afternoon, the fertilizer will remain in the soil overnight and into the next day.
This fertilization process must be repeated for two days in a row.
We can store this preparation in the refrigerator for up to a month, without losing its properties.
With this mixture, we provide the soil with the starch and calcium from the beans that stimulate rooting ; Coffee adds nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and acidity to the soil.
Other tips

- For plants to grow green, it is important to know the amount of water they need. If we overhydrate it or give it less water than it needs, we affect the roots and the leaves will turn yellow.
- It is not advisable to water during central hours, but rather in the early morning or in the afternoons, when there is sunlight but it does not directly hit our plants. If we water in full sun, the water drops will create a magnifying glass effect with the sun’s rays and the heat can burn the leaves.
- I suggest that you perform a weekly inspection of your plants and remove dry leaves and flowers, since these also absorb water and do not allow the plant to grow as it should. At the same time, we give room for new leaves to grow.
- Finally, dust and dirt clog the pores of the leaves, do not allow them to breathe and do not photosynthesize. With large leaves you can wipe them with a soft sponge. If you want to do it faster, use soapy water to wash the entire plant.
