What Exposure Should We Offer It?
Protect Hardy Banana Trees: To avoid damage from prevailing winds that can shred the leaves, plant your banana tree along a south-facing wall or a low wall for protection. While some banana species may suffer from sunburn in direct sunlight, most will benefit from the warmth. In a veranda or greenhouse, be cautious of the magnifying effect of direct sunlight which can cause burns.
Indoor Placement: Banana trees need a lot of sunlight to grow—at least five hours of direct sun per day. Initially, place the plant about two meters from a south-facing window to help it adjust to the sunlight without burning. The ideal indoor temperatures are:

What Soil Does the Banana Tree Need?
Winter Care: In winter, banana plants require less water but keep the soil slightly moist. Ensure the air is humid, which can be achieved with a humidifier or by placing a bowl of water near a heating source. Watch for dryness caused by heating, which can attract pests like red spiders.
Soil Requirements: The planting soil should be rich and well-draining. For outdoor planting, especially for subtropical bananas, use:
