1. Is Aloe Vera Good for Orchids?

  • Aloe vera is beneficial for orchids as it acts as a natural fertilizer, promoting healthier and more sustainable growth. It also possesses repellent properties that help keep pests away from the plants.

2. How to Use Aloe Vera for Orchids:

2.1 Homemade Orchid Fertilizer:

  • Take a small part (5-7 cm) of an aloe vera leaf and remove thorny edges.
  • Blend the aloe vera piece with a liter of water until smooth.
  • Filter the mixture to obtain a liquid.
  • Use the liquid as a natural fertilizer by either watering the orchids or spraying the leaves.

2.2 For Beautiful Shiny Foliage:

  • Cut a small piece of aloe vera and open it to reveal the gel.
  • Rub each orchid leaf with the gel to hydrate and increase humidity.
  • This method gives orchids beautiful, shiny foliage.

2.3 How to Take Orchid Cuttings with Aloe Vera:

  • After orchid flowering is complete, take the green flower scape and cut it into small pieces, each containing a bud.
  • Remove the membrane from each bud to facilitate shoots.
  • Cut a small amount from both ends of each cutting.
  • Soak the cuttings in aloe vera gel for 15 minutes, then dry them lightly with cotton.
  • Apply a healing product to each end to prevent rot.
  • Soak the cuttings in moss soaked in quicklime for 20 minutes.
  • Spray the stems with non-calcareous water, cover well, and place in a cool place.
  • Moisturize the stems daily, and after five weeks, new growth should appear.
  • Continue spraying with water for the next three months.
  • When the seedlings have strong roots and leaves, plant each in an individual pot.

These methods harness the benefits of aloe vera for orchids, providing natural nourishment, promoting growth, and aiding in the propagation of new orchids.
